Electric bike batteries are very different from your run-of-the-mill car batteries. Most people aren’t even aware that they need to change their e-bikes’ batteries on a regular basis! Lithium-ion batteries recharge quickly, are light weight, and can last a very long time without losing capacity. A higher voltage gives off a greater electrical current, which means that the battery can store more energy over a shorter period of time. An average lithium-ion battery can store a charge of about 110 amps. These high voltages can easily help the e-bikes run for hours on end without having to recharge the batteries. As these batteries get older though, they begin to lose their ability to store charges.

How long do you think it will take your battery to recharge if it has a full charge? The amount of watt hours that you get from your e-bike will be directly related to the amount of watts that you use. If you use your e-bikes less than ten hours per week, then you can expect to get six to eight hour of use from the battery. If you use your electric bike over ten hours per week, then you can expect to receive around sixteen to twenty hour of use out of your battery.
